Hunters who pick the Axis 2 XP in 30-06 Springfield tend to want a do-it-all big game rifle, and the AccuTrigger is usually the first thing mentioned as a real upgrade over older budget bolt guns. The bolt runs smoothly for most owners once it has a few boxes through it.

The OD Green stock and threaded barrel appeal to hunters who want the rifle field-ready without extra work, and the ambidextrous grip gets called out by left-handed shooters in particular. A recurring complaint is that the factory recoil pad could be softer for a caliber that kicks harder than the smaller Axis 2 chamberings.

As a value proposition, the Axis 2 XP with a mounted scope is generally seen as a way to walk out the door with a complete rifle for less than buying the pieces separately. Owners describe it as a working rifle for the field, not a showpiece.
