The Savage Arms Axis 2 XP is a left-hand bolt-action rifle chambered in .25-06 Remington, built for hunters who want a capable, accurate rifle without a lot of fuss. It comes with a user-adjustable AccuTrigger, a hardwood stock, and a 3-9x40 scope included.
The AccuTrigger lets shooters dial in pull weight to preference, which translates directly to better shot-to-shot consistency. The bolt cycles cleanly and handles quick follow-up shots without drama. Left-hand bolt-action options at this price point are genuinely scarce, so this model fills a real gap for southpaw hunters.
The hardwood stock is traditional-looking and holds up well in field conditions. It adds some visual character compared to synthetic alternatives and gives the rifle solid balance.
Hunters pursuing medium to large game across varied terrain, and left-handed shooters in particular who need a dedicated LH bolt without paying a significant premium.
The .25-06 is a flat-shooting cartridge well-suited to open country and moderate timber. It handles deer-sized game comfortably at normal hunting distances. The 22-inch barrel keeps the rifle maneuverable in the field while still extracting good velocity from the caliber.
Mentioned the butt pad is new that's a night and day difference.
I think the bolt issue has been resolved.
That's the best group that's three touching guys that's three well under an inch.
I really like this hardwood and that's the same stock it's just made out of wood.
These right here, they are the cheapest, the most untrustworthy rings ever, right?
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
Owners of the Axis 2 XP LH .25-06 generally come away satisfied, particularly given the price. Accuracy gets the most praise. The rifle tends to shoot well right out of the box, and the AccuTrigger's adjustability makes it easy to dial in a clean break. The .25-06 caliber draws consistent appreciation for its flat trajectory and versatility across different game and terrain.
The lightweight build makes carrying it through the field comfortable, and the matte finish holds up well outdoors without drawing attention.
Criticism centers mostly on the stock, which some find basic compared to rifles costing more. A few owners also mention the included scope as adequate but not a long-term keeper for anyone shooting past standard hunting distances. These aren't surprising trade-offs at this price point, and most owners treat them as upgrade opportunities rather than dealbreakers.
