The Sig Sauer Model 100 is a bolt-action rifle in the Classic series, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. It has a blued receiver, a stained beechwood stock and handguard, and a cold hammer-forged steel barrel, a combination that puts it squarely in the traditional-aesthetic camp while still delivering what 6.5 Creedmoor is known for: flat trajectory and good long-range performance.

Detailed Features

The cold hammer-forged barrel contributes to consistent bore dimensions and long barrel life. The three-position safety lets the shooter open and close the bolt while keeping the trigger blocked, useful when loading or unloading safely in the field. The receiver is drilled and tapped; there are no iron sights included, so mounting an optic is the intended setup. At 6.7 lbs and 22 inches of barrel, the weight is manageable for a day in the field without being so light that 6.5 Creedmoor recoil becomes uncomfortable.

Owners of the Sig Sauer Classic 100 in 6.5 Creedmoor generally come away satisfied. Build quality is the most common positive. The rifle feels solid, and the beechwood stock and blued metal give it a traditional look that appeals to hunters and collectors who prefer that aesthetic over synthetic/cerakote finishes.

Accuracy gets consistent praise, especially at longer ranges where 6.5 Creedmoor shines. Shooters report it as a reliable choice for deer hunting and target work out to practical distances. The recoil is well-managed for the caliber, and shooters don't report fatigue during extended range sessions.

Ergonomics come up positively too. The stock fits most shooters without adjustment, and the controls are straightforward. The three-position safety is mentioned as a thoughtful inclusion.

On the critical side, aftermarket accessory availability is limited compared to more popular platforms, which is a recurring point for those who like to customize. Opinions on value are split: some feel the price is appropriate given Sig's reputation and the rifle's fit and finish; others think competitors offer similar performance for less. Customer service experiences with Sig Sauer range from smooth warranty interactions to frustrating ones, and this inconsistency shows up in user discussions fairly regularly.
