The aluminum receiver keeps weight manageable at 5.1 lbs unloaded. Picatinny rail sections at the front and rear of the handguard allow optic and accessory mounting without adapters. The manual safety is ambidextrous and positive in detent. 
 
At 5.5 inches, the barrel is on the short end for .300 Blackout -- velocity is lower than a 16-inch rifle, but the caliber was designed to perform from short barrels and it does. The cold hammer-forged steel barrel handles sustained fire without degrading as quickly as some button-rifled alternatives.

The Rattler gets used most often as a truck gun or home-defense platform where its folded dimensions are a practical advantage. Owners running suppressors with subsonic .300 Blackout are generally pleased with how the piston system handles the different pressure curve -- it cycles more consistently than direct-impingement setups at that barrel length.

The two most common criticisms are cost and recoil.
