Taurus has worked to shake its older reputation for inconsistent quality control, and the TX9 line comes up often in that conversation. Owners who put a few hundred rounds through the TX9 Full Size generally report reliable cycling, though a subset of buyers still describe an early break-in period with occasional failures to feed before the gun settles in.

Ergonomics get positive marks, with the interchangeable backstraps from the Taurus Modular System letting shooters with smaller or larger hands find a better fit than a fixed-frame pistol. The T.O.R.O. optic cut is popular with buyers who want to add a red dot without paying for a separate plate system, and the reversible controls are appreciated by left-handed owners.

On value, the TX9 Full Size is consistently framed as a budget alternative to pricier striker-fired duty pistols, and most owners feel the price-to-feature ratio is strong. The main complaint is aftermarket holster and accessory selection, which lags behind more established platforms even as the TX9's user base grows.
