Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
Owners of the TAR 12 in urban camo tend to be positive about it, with some consistent caveats.
The AR-style layout and accessory compatibility get frequent mention. The ability to add optics, lights, and foregrips appeals to shooters who like to configure their gear, and the controls are familiar to anyone who has run an AR carbine. Semi-auto reliability and follow-up shot speed are the most common performance positives. The included choke tube set is a practical bonus that buyers appreciate.
Weight and recoil management are the recurring criticisms. Recoil opinions split. Some find it manageable for the gauge, others want more mitigation. There's also some skepticism about long-term durability and brand support, which is understandable given Tokarev USA's shorter track record compared to established names.
Buyers who want the shortest possible gun in this finish should look at the TBP 12 UC bullpup instead; the TAR is the conventional-length version.

The paint gets attention, and mine shoots great when firmly controlled under recoil.
