The TriStar Viper G2 Youth is a 20-gauge semi-automatic shotgun configured for younger or smaller shooters. It comes with two stocks: a youth-length stock for smaller frames and a standard-length stock to grow into as skills develop. The 24-inch barrel and 6.2-lb weight keep handling manageable, and the chrome-lined barrel and chamber resist corrosion while simplifying cleaning.

The Viper G2 Youth gets positive marks as a training shotgun. The semi-auto action generates noticeably less felt recoil than a pump of the same gauge, which makes it less intimidating for youth shooters. The dual-stock setup is a practical feature that avoids replacing the gun as young shooters grow, and the adjustable configuration is cited as a standout value.

The downsides are familiar to this platform: the gun may need a brief break-in period to cycle lighter loads reliably, parts availability is occasionally mentioned as a concern, and experienced shooters looking to move past a beginner gun may find advanced features lacking. Customer service experiences vary. Overall it works well as an introductory shotgun for younger or smaller shooters.
