The Taylors and Co Uberti 1873 Cattleman Engraved in Stainless is a single-action .45 Colt revolver with a 7.5" barrel and hand-engraved white steel finish. It holds 6 rounds and comes new in box (manufacturer part number 705AWE).
The single-action mechanism delivers a consistent trigger pull and keeps operation simple. The fixed blade front sight is fast to pick up, though not adjustable. The retractable firing pin means the hammer rests safely without resting directly on a live primer, so you can carry all six chambers.
The engraving is done on the white steel frame and is the primary visual distinction of this model. Uberti's production quality is known in the Cowboy Action world, and fit and finish on these engraved variants holds up well.
The 7.5" barrel length makes this a range and Cowboy Action gun, or a display piece for collectors. Historical reenactors working with 1870s-era firearms will find the styling accurate. The .45 Colt caliber has a long track record in single-action competition.
The Uberti 1873 Cattleman .45 Colt Engraved Stainless draws a lot of attention for its looks. The engraving and white steel finish make it a standout piece, and Uberti's reputation for quality holds here. Owners report smooth action and good fit and finish.
The .45 Colt caliber gets consistent praise: it has historical credibility and performs well in Cowboy Action competition. The stainless finish is noted as durable and resistant to corrosion, which matters for a show piece that also gets shot.
The weight comes up as a practical consideration. At 7.5" of barrel, it's not a light gun, and some shooters find extended use fatiguing. Price is the other frequent discussion point. It sits at the higher end for this category, though most owners feel the craftsmanship warrants it. A few budget-minded buyers disagree.
Overall, owners are proud of the purchase and use it regularly at the range or in competition. It's a specialized firearm for a specific buyer, and that buyer tends to be very happy with it.
