The Weatherby 307 Alpine is a lightweight bolt-action rifle built around the Peak 44 Bastion stock, described as the lightest production vertical grip carbon fiber stock available. Chambered in .240 Weatherby Mag with a 22-inch BSF barrel, it holds 4 rounds and tips the scales at just 24 ounces for the stock alone.
Having the shorter Barrel actually I think makes the rifle more maneuverable a little more pleasurable to carry and less awkward to handle especially for what this rifle is designed to do up in the High Country.
One of the things I love about the trigger Tech triggers is you can actually adjust the trigger with a simple click of a set screw.
This rifle platform overall between the Bastion stock design and the carbon fiber design that's integrated into the stock and the butt pad it really manages recoil really well even without these added tools of a suppressor or muzzle brake.
The model 307 action is just I mean buttery smooth.

Buyers of the 307 Alpine in .240 Weatherby Mag tend to focus on two things: the weight and the accuracy. The lightweight build is the main draw for hunters who cover a lot of ground, and most report that the Peak 44 Bastion stock is noticeably lighter than anything they've carried before. At range, the rifle shoots flat and the muzzle brake keeps recoil manageable for the cartridge. Weatherby's fit and finish get consistent praise.
The price comes up as a concern, though most owners feel the combination of the carbon fiber stock and BSF barrel justifies the cost. Availability of accessories and aftermarket parts specific to this platform is narrower than on more popular actions, which matters to some buyers. Overall the sentiment among hunters who prioritize weight savings skews positive.
