The Vanguard Camilla in 7mm-08 Rem is a bolt-action rifle that sits in a useful middle ground: the 7mm-08 cartridge produces less recoil than a .308 while delivering enough energy for medium game at reasonable distances. The 20-inch barrel keeps the ...

Detailed Features

Adjustable Match Quality, Two-stage Trigger: Pull weight is user-adjustable. The two-stage design lets you take up the first stage before committing to the shot, which is useful for field shooting where trigger control matters.
Fluted Bolt Body: Fluting removes weight from the bolt without reducing its rigidity, and the bolt cycles smoothly under rapid follow-up.
One-piece Machined Bolt Body: Cut from a single piece of steel, which keeps tolerances consistent and reduces the chance of failure under hard use.
Fully Enclosed Bolt Sleeve: Shields the bolt from debris and moisture during field use.
3-Position Safety: The safety can be engaged with the bolt open or closed, so the rifle can be loaded or unloaded while keeping the action secured.
Cold Hammer Forged Barrel: Uniform rifling along the full barrel length contributes to consistent accuracy and longer barrel life.
Integral Recoil Lug: Keeps the action anchored to the stock, which reduces movement between shots and improves consistency.
Hinged Floorplate: Drops the magazine contents without removing the magazine from the rifle.

Metal sling swivel stud down here would like to see that be a flush cut in the future.

Bullets4Bucks

Forward of course you can fire it nice crisp clean two-stage trigger.

Bullets4Bucks

The bolt rides very smooth in this receiver I would say about as smooth as a Remington uh 700.

Bullets4Bucks

Very very pleased with this rifle it does have a noticeable uh shorter length of pull and feels very light and easy to maneuver in the hands.

Bullets4Bucks

I really liked it I was able to achieve Suba groups out of this rifle on the first range trip.

Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.

The Weatherby Vanguard Camilla in 7mm-08 gets consistent positive marks on accuracy. Most owners report it shoots well out of the box. The bolt action is smooth, and the build quality draws favorable comments. The rifle is specifically dimensioned for smaller-framed shooters, with a shorter length of pull and lighter weight than standard Vanguard models; many users, particularly women, find this meaningfully improves handling and comfort.

Some critical notes: a few users found the stock less durable than expected over time, showing wear sooner than the metalwork. Recoil management comes up occasionally. The 7mm-08 is generally mild but some novice shooters still find it takes adjustment. Overall the reception is positive, with most feedback focusing on how the ergonomic design improves accessibility for shooters the standard rifle fits less well.

I would like to put this rifle to use for hunting as well as tournament shooting.
