The Winchester Model 70 Long Range MB is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22-250 Remington, built for hunters and target shooters who want genuine long-range capability. The .22-250 delivers a flat trajectory and low recoil, which suits extended range sessions and varmint work alike.
The 24-inch fluted barrel reduces weight and increases surface area for heat dissipation during long shooting sessions. A muzzle brake cuts felt recoil and speeds follow-up shots. The three-position safety lets you carry chambered while still allowing loading and unloading without fully disengaging the lock. The threaded barrel accepts suppressors or other muzzle devices.
The combination of the M.O.A. trigger, controlled round feed, and the fluted barrel makes this a capable platform for competitive varmint hunting and precision rifle matches where .22-250 is a legal class.
You can't really adjust it lighter, which is kind of a negative, but it's very crisp and clean.
Once that action's closed in the middle position you can still raise and lower the bolt without fear of the trigger being released.
Very smooth action and modeled after the Mouser 98. There's probably not really a more durable, reliable action out there.
The new model 70s are pretty good. The ones made 10 years ago or 15 years ago were push round feet and I don't really like them.
I like the pre64 and then new ones. I prefer though the super grade.

The Model 70 LR MB in .22-250 draws consistent praise for its smooth bolt and reliable feeding. The .22-250 caliber gets particular attention for its flat trajectory and effectiveness on varmints at distance. Winchester's fit and finish on this model generally meets expectations for the price, with users noting tight tolerances on the action and a trigger that breaks cleanly out of the box.
The main complaints are predictable: it runs 7 lbs. 8 oz. unscoped, which adds up on a long day afield. A few buyers also note the price is on the higher side relative to other long-range bolt guns in similar calibers, though most consider the quality justifies it. For hunters wanting a consistent performer in .22-250 without custom-shop prices, it's a practical pick.
