A 2011 is a double-stack 1911: the same single-action, hammer-fired mechanism and grip angle as John Browning's design, on a two-piece frame where a steel rail section meets a separate wide grip module that holds a staggered magazine. Staccato owns the 2011 trademark, so competitors ship the same pattern under their own names, which is why this list mixes Staccato P, C2, XC and XL with Springfield's Prodigy and 1911 DS, Bul Armory's SAS II, Kimber and Taurus. Almost all of them are 9mm, most carry 16 to 20 rounds, and barrel lengths run from 3.5 inches on the compacts to 5 inches on the full-size guns. Bul's Axe series is not here: despite the shared maker it is striker-fired and shares no mechanism with a 1911.
