Triple barrel shotguns carry three barrels in a triangle: two side by side along the bottom and a third on top, centered above the gap between them. That layout gives a single sight plane, so the gun aims like a conventional shotgun despite the extra tube. A single trigger fires the barrels in sequence, right then left then top, and opening the action resets the sequence and cocks the firing pins. Three chambers means three shots before reloading, and three different loads if you want them: birdshot in the lower pair and a slug up top, for instance. Almost every triple barrel on the US market is built by Akkar Silah Sanayi in Turkey and sold under the Chiappa and Charles Daly names as the Triple Crown, Triple Threat, Triple Magnum, TripleTac and Triple Honcho. The trade-off is weight: a triple runs heavier than a comparable two-barrel gun, and the extra mass sits forward of your hands.
