The Bergara BMR is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 WMR, built around a 20-inch carbon fiber barrel that keeps the overall weight down to 5 lbs. The carbon fiber construction also helps with heat management during sustained fire. The steel receiver gives it a solid lockup.

Usage Scenarios

• Small game hunting: .22 WMR at 5 lbs is easy to carry in the field all day.
• Varmint shooting: effective caliber for pest control at practical field distances.
• Precision rimfire practice: the trigger and carbon fiber barrel make it capable at the target range.

Bergara BMR owners in .22 WMR are generally happy with the rifle's accuracy. The precision trigger gets specific credit. Users note it's noticeably cleaner than triggers on comparable rimfire bolt guns. Build quality and the lightweight carbon fiber barrel are cited consistently as reasons people chose it over alternatives.

Common criticisms: price sits higher than many .22 WMR competitors, and some buyers feel that gap needs justification. A few users report magazine feeding issues and suggest the design could be improved for reliability. On the weight side, opinions split. Most appreciate the lightness for field use, but a handful of shooters prefer more mass for stability on a bench or bipod.
