Detailed Features
The back-bored 30" barrel reduces recoil compared to standard-bore barrels at the same gauge and load. The Monte Carlo stock keeps the shooter's eye level with the rib without stock modifications. At 8.20 lbs, the CXT is on the heavier side for a 12-gauge at 30", which some shooters prefer for smooth swing-through on crossing targets.
The triple trigger system lets the shooter select from three different trigger shoes for length of pull customization. The Invector Plus Midas chokes (Full, Improved Modified, Modified) are included. Polished blued steel barrel and receiver give the CXT a traditional appearance. Ivory bead front and mid-bead rear provide a clear sight picture.
Usage Scenarios
- Sporting clays where back-bored barrels and a heavier platform are preferred
- Upland bird hunting where a traditional over-under aesthetic is wanted
- Clay target practice for shooters who favor the balance point of an 8 lb gun

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
Wood stock is perfect nice glossy finish the bluing again perfect browning really knocked my socks off with this gun.
This is just a hard shooting gun i know they have the recoil pad on here that helps but something about this cheek rust does not allow for really soft shooting.
It is going to bruise the side of your face all day long so if you're planning on shooting this gun for 50 100 200 rounds in a day you're gonna be sore.
Another con is that these choke tubes are extremely hard to get out and they are extremely flimsy in terms of using your choke wrench.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The Citori CXT draws favorable reviews from shooters who appreciate Browning's traditional over-under construction and prefer a heavier platform for clay shooting. Build quality and the gloss walnut stock are consistently cited positives, the finish is clean and the woodwork is well done for the price.
The back-bored 30" barrel is appreciated by shooters who find standard-bore guns harder on the shoulder during extended sessions. The triple trigger system is a notable practical feature that lets users adjust trigger reach without replacing parts. Balance at 8.20 lbs is described as stable on crossing and going-away targets.
Weight is the most common criticism from hunters who carry the gun in the field for long periods. Price comments come up as expected for a Citori-line gun, most buyers acknowledge it's not cheap, and the discussion usually comes down to whether the Citori build quality and triple trigger warrant the premium over competing over-unders. Owners who shoot it regularly tend to feel it does.
