The X-Bolt 2 Hell's Canyon LR SR is built for hunters and competitive shooters who need both precision and versatility. The optimized barrel specs push bullet velocities higher than standard lengths, and the rifle accepts suppressors straight from the factory via its threaded muzzle.

Detailed Features

Fluted Heavy Sporter Contour barrels run 2 inches longer than standard (up to 26 inches), which is where most of the velocity gain comes from. The threaded muzzle (5/8"-24) works with suppressors, and the included Recoil Hawg muzzle brake cuts felt recoil noticeably during long sessions.

The Plus Magazine is a proprietary single-stack design holding 5 or 6 rounds depending on cartridge. It keeps the shoulder-retention feel of the traditional X-Bolt rotary magazine while doing a better job protecting bullet tips on loading and under recoil.

Action and barrel wear a Cerakote Smoked Bronze finish that holds up better than bluing or standard stainless in field conditions.

The McMillan Game Scout stock is fiberglass composite, machined to fit, with aluminum pillars for solid action bedding. The geometry works for both field hunting and bench use.

Owners of the Browning X-Bolt 2 Hell's Canyon LR SR in 7mm PRC generally rate it highly, though the feedback is specific rather than uniform.

Accuracy gets the most consistent praise. The 7mm PRC cartridge's flat trajectory and downrange performance on game come up in nearly every thread. Long-range groups reported by owners tend to be tight.

Build quality is another consistent positive. People notice the fit and finish, and the rifle holds up in varied field conditions without complaints.

Weight is a real point of discussion. Some find the rifle manageable; others say it's noticeable over long miles, especially compared to lighter bolt guns. The Cerakote bronze finish is well-liked aesthetically and draws attention at the range.

Recoil management gets better marks than many expect from a 7mm PRC. The muzzle brake makes a difference.

Pricing discussions are mixed. Some feel the quality justifies the cost; others consider it a stretch. Customization topics lean toward optic choices and suppressor pairing given the threaded muzzle. Browning customer service experiences in these threads vary: some positive, some frustrating around warranty work.
