• The Vari-Tech stock offers an adjustable length of pull, an adjustable comb, and interchangeable grip modules for a customized fit.
• Overmolded grip surfaces sit at the primary contact points on the stock.
• A steel receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, and a tang safety sits within reach of the trigger hand.
• An Inflex 1.25 recoil pad and a 1:10" barrel twist round out a setup suited to standard .308 Win bullet weights.

Owners of Browning's X-Bolt rifles generally report smooth-cycling bolt actions and consistent accuracy across seasons of hunting use. The X-Bolt 2's trigger usually gets described as breaking cleanly out of the box, and the steel barrel and receiver are commonly noted for standing up to rough field conditions.

The Vari-Tech stock's adjustable comb, length of pull, and interchangeable grip modules draw frequent praise, since they let a shooter tailor the fit without buying an aftermarket stock. A .308 Win chambering keeps recoil manageable compared to magnum options, and owners often mention the rifle carries well on long hunts thanks to a manageable overall length.

Browning's X-Bolt platform has a wide base of aftermarket stocks, triggers, and mounts, so parts are easy to source. The Hunter LR sits at a mid-to-upper price point for a hunting rifle in this class, and most owners feel the fit, finish, and adjustability justify the cost for a dedicated field rifle.
