It has a 16.5-inch threaded barrel under a carbon fiber shroud, a folding wire stock with an integrated shell holder, and adjustable M1 carbine-style sights. Owners of the Little Badger TDX like how compact the rifle breaks down for backpack or pack-out storage, and the carbon fiber shroud keeps the front end light without feeling flimsy. The break-action design is simple and reliable since there's little to malfunction, though a single-shot .22 LR obviously means a slower cadence than a semi-auto plinker.

The folding wire stock is polarizing: some owners appreciate how small it packs down, while others find it less comfortable for extended shooting sessions than a solid stock. The M1 carbine-style sights are functional out of the box, and the quad Picatinny forend lets owners add a light or optic if they want one.

As a value proposition, the Little Badger TDX competes with other takedown .22 rifles, and owners generally see it as an affordable, packable option for camp, truck, or bug-out use rather than a precision target rifle. Aftermarket support is modest compared to mainstream .22 platforms, so most owners run it close to stock.
