The CMMG Dissent is a 9mm Luger carbine built around a compact form factor with a cross-bolt safety and a Zeroed Drop-In Single Stage trigger. At 38.1" overall and 7.8 lbs, it handles easily in close quarters without feeling flimsy. The 16.1" barrel with a 1:10" twist stabilizes 9mm bullets well across the typical range of projectile weights.

The Zeroed Drop-In trigger comes factory-set for a crisp pull and short reset, which helps with accurate follow-up shots. The cross-bolt safety is straightforward to operate under any conditions. A 10-round magazine keeps the profile legal in restricted states while still giving you enough capacity for range use or home defense. The carbine-length format balances maneuverability with the velocity advantage a 16.1" barrel provides over a pistol-length barrel in the same caliber.

The CMMG Dissent draws generally positive feedback, with most owners focusing on the trigger and handling. The Zeroed Drop-In trigger gets consistent praise for its smooth pull and quick reset. Ergonomics come up often. The grip sits comfortably for most hand sizes, and the overall balance makes extended range sessions manageable.

The 10-round magazine capacity divides opinion. Shooters in restricted states are fine with it, but those who have access to higher-capacity options sometimes wish CMMG had included a larger standard magazine. Weight and balance compared to other compact 9mm carbines is another recurring thread, though most find 7.8 lbs acceptable for this format.

Customization gets discussed regularly as well: rail space, muzzle device options, and stock adjustability. Reliability reports are broadly positive, with few complaints about cycling issues across different 9mm loads.
