Features
The 16.1-inch barrel extracts more velocity from 9mm Luger than typical pistol-length barrels. The 1:10-inch twist stabilizes the common 115 to 147 gr projectile range. The zeroed drop-in trigger installs without fitting and ships ready to shoot. Cross-bolt safety is straightforward to operate from either side. The design accepts standard Glock-pattern magazines.
Use Cases
Works for recreational range shooting, competition, and home defense. The 10-round capacity fits states with magazine restrictions. The carbine length makes it more stable for new shooters than a pistol while still being manageable indoors.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
These stocks are wildly overpriced, so they contribute a lot to the price tag of the Descent, and they're just terrible. Really uncomfortable, really flimsy, demands immediate replacement.
Their ambidextrous selector is very stiff. It's too thin and has sharp checkering. It's just painful and difficult to use.
I don't think there's a single thing the Descent 9 doesn't do better than the MP5 platform, except it's not as fashionable.
This gun works extremely well and it shoots great. It is my favorite PCC that I've ever shot, but it ends up being the king of a really niche category that not a lot of people care about.
The downside is that you do feel the trigger slap. And if you have a high round count range session, it's not going to feel great.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
Owners of the CMMG Dissent 9mm generally appreciate its compact build and practical feature set. Build quality comes up consistently in a positive light - materials and fit are well regarded. Reliability reports are mostly positive from range sessions, and the ability to run Glock-pattern magazines is a practical plus for those who already own Glock pistols.
Customization gets mentioned often; the platform accepts a reasonable range of accessories. On the downside, some buyers note the price is higher than competing 9mm carbines, and the aftermarket parts ecosystem is smaller than for more established platforms.
