Owners of AR-style pistol-caliber platforms like the FX-9 Elite tend to focus first on reliability with the blowback action, and most report the gun runs clean with quality ammunition once it is broken in, though a few users mention needing to clean and lubricate more often than a direct-impingement rifle. The SBA5 brace is generally liked for stabilizing the gun against the forearm, and the angled fore grip gets praise for giving a secure support-hand hold in a compact package.

Ergonomically, the FX-9 Elite draws comparisons to other AR-style pistols since the receiver and controls feel familiar to anyone who has run an AR-pattern rifle, which shortens the learning curve. Some shooters find the balance a bit front-heavy with an optic mounted, while others appreciate that the weight keeps the muzzle steady during rapid strings.

On value, buyers like that the pistol runs on widely available Glock-pattern magazines rather than a proprietary magazine, which keeps ammunition and spare-magazine costs down. The AR-pattern aftermarket also means grips, optics mounts, and slings are easy to source, and owners see that ecosystem as a strong selling point over less common pistol-caliber platforms.
