The G-Force GF5 Filthy Pheasant is an over-under shotgun chambered in .410 GA with a 28-inch barrel, built for bird hunting and sport shooting. The wood-and-black finish gives it a traditional look that pairs well with the aluminum frame's lighter weight.

Detailed Features

The aluminum frame keeps weight down while the Turkish walnut stock provides a traditional feel and good shoulder fit. Chrome moly-lined bore means consistent performance over time without the corrosion concerns of unlined steel. The raised vent rib pairs with the fiber optic front sight to give a clear sight picture for fast target acquisition.

Five included chokes, Extended Cylinder through Full, cover everything from close-range flushes to longer crossing shots. Switching chokes lets you tune the pattern without changing guns.

Usage

Built for upland hunting (pheasants, quail, similar birds) where you're moving through brush and need something you can carry all day. The .410 GA and 2-round capacity mean it also sees use at trap and skeet for practice. It's light enough for younger or newer shooters to handle comfortably.

Owners of the GF5 Pheasant Hunter generally like its light weight and ease of handling for upland bird work, and the over-under layout gets credit for good balance and the ability to fire a quick second shot. The aesthetics (walnut stock, blued finish) are a consistent positive.

On the critical side, some users have noted concerns about long-term reliability of the action and trigger after extended use, which is worth keeping in mind if you're planning heavy seasons. The price draws in entry-level buyers, but experienced hunters sometimes feel it falls short of higher-end options in fit and finish. For casual upland hunting it generally gets the job done; for those who want a lifelong gun, the higher-end alternatives are worth comparing.
