The Heritage Rough Rider Rancher is a single-action .22 LR carbine with a 16.1" barrel, cocobolo wood stock, and black oxide finish. At 4.12 lbs and 32" overall, it's light enough to carry all day without much strain.

The black oxide finish handles corrosion reasonably well and keeps the look simple. Cocobolo is a dense, attractive hardwood that holds up to normal use. Both sights are adjustable (drift for windage up front, elevation at the rear), which gives you enough to zero it for a specific load. The included leather sling makes carry more convenient on longer outings. Six-round capacity is a limitation of the single-action format, but for small game or casual plinking it's not a real obstacle.
User feedback on the Heritage Rough Rider Rancher .22 LR Cocobolo Carbine covers a fairly consistent set of topics.
Affordability is the strongest positive. Most buyers acknowledge it is a budget rifle and rate the value accordingly. For plinking, introducing new shooters, or light small game work, it gets the job done without a large investment.
The lightweight and the cocobolo stock both draw regular praise. The stock in particular stands out given the price; buyers appreciate the look and feel of real wood at this tier.
Criticism tends to focus on build quality relative to higher-end rifles. Some users note fit-and-finish inconsistencies, and accuracy at longer distances is rated modest at best. A segment of reviewers mention the limited feature set is fine for casual use but underwhelming for anyone with more specific expectations. Questions about optics mounting and recoil management with certain ammunition types come up occasionally, though neither is a major complaint at the .22 LR power level.
