The Panzer EG-220 is a 12-gauge lever-action shotgun with natural walnut furniture and a 20" barrel. The lever action cycles rounds smoothly and allows fast follow-up shots, which is useful in any scenario where you need to work quickly. At 39" overall it handles well in tight spaces, and the 6+1 capacity keeps you in the game longer than most comparable shotguns.

Detailed Features

The lever action mechanism cycles reliably and lets you get back on target faster than a break-action can. The 20" barrel keeps the gun light and maneuverable without sacrificing too much in the way of effective range. Natural walnut furniture gives it a classic look and a comfortable, grippy feel during extended use.

The F.M.C. choke system lets you adjust shot patterns to match your target, tighter for birds in flight, more open for close-range work. The included Birds Head grip improves control and makes challenging shooting positions more manageable.

Usage Scenarios

1. Home Defense: The compact size navigates hallways well, and the 6+1 capacity gives you room to work.
2. Field Hunting: The F.M.C. choke handles bird hunting and small game reliably.
3. Competitive Shooting: The lever action's quick cycling suits sporting clays and trap shooting.

The EG-220's lever-action design draws consistent attention from shooters who find pump-action and semi-auto options unremarkable. The walnut stock gets frequent praise for both its looks and its feel in hand.

Recoil is described as manageable for a 12-gauge, and the compact 20" barrel makes it easy to handle, particularly for newer shooters or anyone who wants a lighter option for home defense or hunting. The smooth cycling is a recurring highlight in user discussions.

Capacity comes up as the main complaint. At 6+1, the EG-220 holds less than some competing pump guns, and shooters who want to go long between reloads notice that. Price conversations are generally favorable. Most users consider it well-priced for what it offers, though a few would like to see it come down a bit. Overall the feedback is positive, centered on the combination of traditional aesthetics and practical function.

After a break-in period, the action became notably smooth through loading and firing. Mine has run everything I have tried, from slugs to light number 7.5 shells, without trouble since the first fifty rounds. The weight feels good in hand, and the balance struck me as right from the beginning. I was also glad to find the lever is aluminum rather than polymer. My only real disappointment is the limited selection of aftermarket parts, but the shotgun itself has remained a fun, smooth lever action and still looks excellent after a year.
