The PTR-113 GIRK is a semi-automatic .308 Win rifle built around a roller-delayed blowback system derived from the HK91/G3 pattern. The 16-inch barrel keeps it handy while the roller-delayed action meaningfully reduces felt recoil compared to direct-impingement alternatives in this caliber. It ships in a green parkerized finish and takes both 10- and 20-round magazines.

Detailed Features

The steel receiver and synthetic stock hold up to rough handling, and the iron sights give you a usable zero without any optic. The green polymer grip panels are comfortable through longer sessions. The 9-10 lb trigger pull is on the heavy side. That's typical for the roller-delayed platform and something to be aware of if you're used to a lighter break.

Usage Scenarios

The .308 Win caliber and 20-round capacity make this a capable hunting rifle for larger game or a practical choice for longer-range target work. The 38.5-inch overall length is manageable for the caliber. Competitive shooters have run it in precision rifle formats, though the trigger pull weight is a limitation to account for at distance.

The PTR-113 GIRK draws consistent praise for its build quality and the parkerized finish. Users note it holds up well to wear and the green coloring is a practical and distinctive choice. Accuracy is generally reported as solid across a range of distances, whether for hunting or target shooting, and the semi-automatic action cycles reliably.

Weight is the most common complaint. At 9.5 lbs, it's heavier than many competing .308 semi-autos, and for hunters covering ground it becomes a real consideration. Magazine availability and aftermarket parts sourcing also come up. The platform has a dedicated following but the accessory ecosystem is narrower than AR-10-pattern rifles. Some users mention needing a break-in period before the action cycles at its smoothest. Customer service and warranty experiences are mixed, with some owners reporting quick resolution and others noting delays.

This feels extremely durable and well built. The use of surplus furniture is a perfect touch for the classic G3 character, and PTR did an impressive job bringing the whole rifle together.
