Owners of the Rio Bravo like that Rossi kept the lever action simple, and most report smooth, reliable cycling with .22 LR ammunition once the action wears in a bit. A few note the trigger has some take-up compared to a tuned lever gun, but say it does not affect function.

The lever throw is short and quick, and people enjoy running it fast for plinking or informal competition. The wood stock and gold receiver draw comments for looks as much as feel, and the rifle carries comfortably for a day at the range.

Buyers see the Rio Bravo as an affordable way into lever-action rimfire, especially next to older tube-fed classics. Aftermarket support is thinner than for more common rimfire semi-autos, so most owners run it close to how it left the factory.
