Detailed Features

The semi-automatic action cycles without manually working the bolt, which matters when shooting small game quickly or running multiple shots on a target. At 5.60 lbs it carries well through a full day of hunting. The adjustable sights let you set the zero without an optic, though the receiver is optic-friendly if you want magnification. Frame is alloy steel with a hardwood Monte Carlo stock.

Target Audience

Small game hunters and rimfire shooters who want .22 WMR performance with the convenience of a semi-auto. Also a reasonable entry-level rifle for shooters new to the platform who want a traditional wood-stock look without a high price point.

Usage Scenarios

Small game hunting (rabbit, squirrel, prairie dogs) is the most common application. The .22 WMR caliber carries more energy than .22 LR at distance, which matters for clean kills on game. Also used for plinking and introducing new shooters to rimfire semi-autos.

The RS22 in .22 WMR gets generally positive marks for its price-to-performance ratio. The lightweight carry and smooth semi-auto cycling are the two most consistent positives in owner feedback. Accuracy at typical rimfire distances is reported as solid, with many owners achieving tight groups without significant sight adjustment out of the box.

The price point is frequently cited as a strength. It is one of the more affordable semi-auto .22 WMR options available.

On the critical side, feeding issues are the most common complaint, and they are usually tied to specific ammunition brands. Trying a different load resolves the problem for most owners, but it is worth being aware of. At 5.60 lbs the recoil is more noticeable than on heavier .22 WMR rifles, though it is still mild in absolute terms.

Aftermarket support is limited compared to more popular rimfire platforms. Some owners note they had to spend time adjusting sights or mounting optics to get their preferred zero. Overall it is a practical choice for the price, with the feeding sensitivity being the main variable to watch.

Accuracy has been excellent, which is the quality I appreciate most about this rifle. Jams have been rare in my experience, so shooting it has generally been smooth and dependable rather than interrupted by frequent cycling problems.
