Detailed Features

The LC6 trigger has a smooth, crisp pull out of the box. A radial-port muzzle brake reduces felt recoil noticeably, which helps with follow-up shots. The 20 MOA Picatinny rail is factory-mounted and provides extended elevation range for long-distance optics setups. The three-position safety locks the bolt or allows load/unload while remaining on safe.

The combination of 5R rifling, a free-floated heavy barrel, and the muzzle brake makes this rifle well-suited for hunters or competitors pushing the 6.5 PRC to its effective range limits.

The Ruger M77 Hawkeye Gen 3 in 6.5 PRC with a 22-inch barrel draws consistent praise from precision shooters and hunters.

Accuracy is the most frequently mentioned strength. The 5R rifling and free-floated barrel deliver tight groups, and the 6.5 PRC cartridge adds long-range capability with recoil that most users find comfortable compared to larger magnum rounds. Build quality is regularly cited: the stainless steel and solid construction feel durable and balanced.

The traditional aesthetics of the Hawkeye platform get mixed but generally positive remarks. Some shooters prefer the classic look; others would choose a more modern chassis. Ergonomics are broadly favorable, with the bolt described as smooth.

Price discussions are common. Most owners consider the value strong given the precision features, though comparisons with similarly-spec'd competitors occasionally come up. Aftermarket accessory availability, particularly optics mounting, is a common discussion thread.
