The Savage Arms Axis 2 in 300 AAC Blackout is a bolt-action rifle that pairs a short 16.125" barrel with the adjustable AccuTrigger in a package that weighs just 6 lbs. The gray synthetic stock and matte black finish are straightforward, no frills, functional in most weather.
The 16.125" barrel and 36.625" overall length make this one of the more compact Axis 2 configurations. A 1-in-8" twist rate stabilizes both supersonic and subsonic .300 Blackout loads, which gives it flexibility if you're running a suppressor. The AccuTrigger is adjustable for pull weight, which helps with precision work. Integral swivel studs are included for sling or bipod attachment.
At 6 lbs., it carries light, useful in tight spaces or on longer walks where you'd rather not haul extra weight.
It's doing good groups at 50, good groups at 100. As good as I can hold.
Compact, which actually I think fits up really nice for this shorter than average Savage Axis 300 Blackout.

The Savage Axis 2 Gen 2 in .300 Blackout generally lands well with owners. The main draws are its price relative to performance and its straightforward reliability. Owners report solid accuracy at typical .300 Blackout distances, whether for hunting or range use. The AccuTrigger's adjustability is a consistent positive. People appreciate being able to set pull weight rather than taking whatever the factory gives them.
The main complaints center on the stock. Several users find the ergonomics lacking for extended shooting sessions and would prefer a better-fitting design. The matte finish gets praise for reducing glare, but a few note it shows wear faster than harder coatings under rough conditions. Overall the sentiment leans positive, with most buyers satisfied that they got reliable .300 Blackout capability at a competitive price.
