Features

The shorter 18" barrel contributes to the 7.0 lb. overall weight and the compact 37.5" length, noticeably handier in thick brush or a ground blind compared to a standard 20" rifle. The 1-in-16" twist is matched to the .350 Legend's bullet weights. The .350 Legend produces moderate recoil, which helps with quick follow-up shots. The two-position top tang safety is accessible without repositioning your hand. Integral swivel studs are in place for sling use, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting.

The Savage Axis XP in .350 Legend draws consistent praise for its value and accuracy. Users find the rifle shoots well at deer hunting distances right from the factory, and the included scope saves money on initial setup. The .350 Legend chambering is specifically appreciated by hunters in states with straight-wall regulations.

The weight of 7.0 lbs. occasionally comes up as heavier than some prefer for a compact rifle, though most find it manageable for typical hunting use. The factory trigger is a recurring topic. Functional for most purposes, but heavier than preferred by some, and aftermarket upgrades are a common recommendation. The stock and finish are considered basic but adequate. Overall it lands well as a budget-friendly hunting rifle that performs reliably within its intended use.
