Detailed Features
The DAO action eliminates the need for a manual safety, keeping the manual of arms simple. At 6" overall and 15 oz, it's a practical size for pocket carry or inside-the-waistband holsters. The FDE frame gives it a two-tone look with the black nitride slide. Finger-grooved grip aids consistent hand placement. The serrated slide aids manipulation when racking under pressure. Glock 43-compatible sights mean aftermarket options are widely available.
Usage
Well-suited for concealed carry and home defense where compactness and simplicity take priority. The 10+1 capacity is competitive for the size class. The .380 ACP chambering offers manageable recoil for new shooters, and the DAO trigger removes the need to think about manual safety under stress.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
The sky' CP x3 shoots really well the double action only trigger is long but it's very smooth and light for a double action.
I've had this to the range quite a bit I put a lot of rounds through it it's still performing very well.
Unfortunately the CP x3 did throw a few jams during my testing in about 250 rounds shot for the video I had a handful of rounds nosedive on the feed ramp.
The gun is very comfortable to shoot and because it's so big for a 380 and uses a real locked breech instead of being straight blowback it's a soft shooter.
If your mom calls you one day and says she got one of these pistols don't worry about it she's probably gonna be just fine.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
Owners of the SCCY CPX-3 FDE/Black generally echo the same themes as the blue variant: affordable, compact, and reliable with good defensive ammunition.
The compact size and 15 oz weight are consistently cited as positives for concealed carry. At the price point, it competes well against other budget compact .380 ACP pistols.
Shooting feel is described as pleasant, recoil is light and the trigger pull, while heavier than striker-fire alternatives, is manageable and consistent. Accuracy at typical defensive distances is adequate.
Criticism focuses on long-term finish durability and occasional reliability hiccups with lower-quality ammunition. The grip texturing is functional but some users prefer more aggressive texturing for a more secure hold.
Overall it's a solid budget carry option, particularly for buyers who prioritize price and size over premium materials or aftermarket support depth.
