Detailed Features
The ported barrel vents propellant gases upward to reduce muzzle rise, which makes follow-up shots faster in DA mode and helps shooters stay on target. The fixed front and adjustable rear sights let you dial in zero for a specific load. The rubber grip with the cushioned insert absorbs a meaningful amount of recoil from full-power .44 Magnum loads -- the 53 oz total weight helps here too. The overall length of 12.60" and the weight make this a two-handed field gun rather than a carry revolver. The matte black oxide and anodized finishes are practical for outdoor use.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
I think the ported barrel and the barrel link helps a lot really tames that recoil now let's try out the 44 magnum.
Dual lock system is kind of annoying but it does keep it locked up and it does keep it uh safe.
I like that a lot again the ported barrel really seems to help with the recoil.
If i had to give you one negative it would be the cylinder release most revolvers just have one release for the cylinder this one has two.
I like that the hammer worked very well in actual Fanning the hammer and going to single action it has a really good single action trigger especially for the price of this gun.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
Feedback on the Taurus Raging Hunter .44 Magnum centers on its performance with full-power loads. The ported barrel gets consistent credit for making the .44 Magnum more manageable, and most owners find the rubber grip comfortable through extended range sessions. The build quality is generally rated as solid for the price, and the gun is considered reliable and well-balanced for a heavy revolver.
The main practical criticisms are about size and weight. At 53 oz and 12.60" overall, it is not a light field gun, and some users find it tiring to carry during long hunts. Price comparisons with other .44 Magnum revolvers come up regularly -- some buyers feel it undercuts the competition on value, while others believe established alternatives justify the difference. Aesthetic opinions are mixed; the utilitarian look works for hunters and doesn't matter much for the primary use case.
