Detailed Features
The C. Mason follows the 1851 Navy silhouette with a SAO trigger. The hammer must be cocked manually before each shot. Single-action revolvers of this type typically have a light, clean trigger pull which benefits aimed precision shooting.
The color case-hardened frame finish produces the mottled blue-gray-brown pattern associated with classic 19th-century American arms. The blued barrel contrasts with the case-hardened frame. Brass post front sight with notched rear is the period-correct configuration. Walnut grips are standard on this model. The .38 Special chambering makes it more practical to shoot than original percussion-era Navy revolvers.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
I really like the grips the wood that they use seems to be of a little higher grade.
Now on the tailors the other thing that i like is the finish and the metal fit between the brass and the steel very nice very crisp lines.
The brass just um like where it meets up with the grip isn't quite as close.
If you see it looks like they put a few extra file marks on there in the knurling and it's just not exactly perfect.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The C. Mason 1851 Navy draws attention primarily from cowboy action shooters and collectors who appreciate the historical styling. The color case-hardened finish is consistently noted as visually distinctive and authentic-looking. Users describe the action as smooth and the shooting experience as enjoyable for range sessions.
On the practical side, some users find the size and weight (36.8 oz, 11.3 inches overall) awkward compared to more compact modern alternatives. Aftermarket parts and accessories are less available than for more popular platforms, which comes up in maintenance discussions.
Overall feedback reflects appreciation for the craftsmanship and historical authenticity, with most criticism focusing on practicality rather than quality.
