Features

The gas piston operating system keeps combustion gases out of the receiver, which means less carbon buildup on the bolt carrier and less frequent detailed cleaning compared to direct impingement designs. The steel receiver is durable. At 8 lbs the rifle is on the heavier side for a 7.62x39 carbine, and the 75-round drum adds meaningful weight when loaded. Matte black finish reduces glare in bright conditions.

Usage

The 75-round capacity makes this rifle suited for high-volume range sessions where reloading interruptions are the main thing you want to avoid. For competition or training scenarios requiring many rapid strings of fire, the drum extends run time between reloads. The 7.62x39 cartridge is effective on medium game and for general range use.

Owners of the VSKA PowerShot in 7.62x39 with the 75-round drum tend to focus their feedback on two things: the gas piston system and the high-capacity drum.

The gas piston design gets credit for keeping the receiver cleaner during long shooting sessions. Owners who've run comparable direct-impingement 7.62x39 rifles note the difference in carbon fouling after a few hundred rounds. Reliability with the 75-round drum is generally reported as solid, though some users mention that feeding issues are more likely with drums than with standard box magazines across most platforms.

Weight is a consistent caveat. The combination of an 8-lb rifle and a loaded 75-round drum results in a noticeably heavy setup. Some shooters find the balance and maneuverability affected; others accept the tradeoff for the extended capacity.

Ammo compatibility discussions come up: the rifle handles standard steel-cased 7.62x39 without issue for most owners, though some report occasional hiccups with specific brands. Stock and grip ergonomics draw mixed opinions, with some wanting a more modern furniture setup.
