The Weatherby Mark V DGR is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .460 Weatherby Mag, built for dangerous-game hunting on Weatherby's Mark V action. It has a 24-inch barrel finished in graphite black Cerakote, a two-position safety, and a factory Accubrake ST for recoil control. The steel receiver is drilled and tapped and carries the same graphite black Cerakote finish, mounted in a fiberglass stock with a raised Monte Carlo comb.

Shooters who buy a Mark V DGR know what they are signing up for. This is a rifle built around a big-bore cartridge, and reviews consistently note that the trigger and stock work together to make the recoil manageable rather than punishing. The Accubrake gets credit for taking the edge off, though a few owners still wear ear protection and a shoulder pad on long range sessions.

Fit and finish on Weatherby's DGR line tends to draw praise. The Monte Carlo stock naturally aligns the eye behind a scope, and the Cerakote finish resists the scrapes and moisture that come with true dangerous-game hunting conditions. Some owners mention the raised comb takes a session or two to get used to if they are coming from a standard sporter profile.

The rifle sits at a premium price point for what it is, and buyers generally accept that as the cost of a purpose-built big-bore Mark V. Ammunition cost and availability for the caliber is the more common complaint than anything about the rifle itself.
