Detailed Features
The break-open action loads and unloads quickly, which matters when you're moving through cover. The top tang safety is ambidextrous. Automatic ejectors clear spent hulls without slowing your reload. Chrome-lined bores resist corrosion and are straightforward to clean. The A-grade walnut stock has a Prince of Wales grip and looks the part without being over-finished.
Usage Scenarios
At 6.20 lbs the gun is easy to carry through a full day of upland hunting. The 20-gauge's lighter recoil works well for pheasant, quail, and similar birds. It handles trap and skeet duty without trouble, and the vent rib barrel helps with consistent sight plane across different target presentations.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
I think this is much more a fuel gun than it is a sporting gun.
Honestly it doesn't excite me when i buy an over under i like to be a little excited like oh this is this is fancy this is not a fancy gun this is kind of a plain field gun.
Somewhere in that vicinity a little heavier than i would prefer to see.
It actually didn't feel too bad as far as recoil i took it primarily back to my shoulder really didn't take a lot into the face but i did notice my muzzle jumped a lot.
Overall i think it's a really nice quality gun for the money.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The Weatherby Orion I 20 GA over/under gets a generally positive reception. The walnut stock draws the most consistent praise. Buyers note the wood quality and the traditional look hold up against more expensive guns. The action is described as smooth out of the box, and accuracy is a repeated positive across upland hunting and clay sports use.
The 20-gauge configuration appeals to a wide range of shooters who want manageable recoil without sacrificing effectiveness, and multiple users mention it works well for both new and experienced shooters.
On the critical side, a few owners note the gun is slightly heavier than some comparable over/unders, which can matter over a long hunt. Trigger pull weight draws occasional mention as being heavier than expected, requiring some adjustment period. Aftermarket accessory options are limited, and some users report needing a short break-in period with certain ammunition before the action settles in. These are minor points against what is generally considered a well-priced gun for the quality.
