The Chiappa White Rhino 60DS is a 6-inch barrel .357 Magnum double-action revolver with a nickel finish, holding 6 rounds and weighing 2.06 lbs. The frame is machined 7075-T6 aluminum alloy with a steel cylinder and barrel.
The low bore axis is the White Rhino's most discussed design feature. The cylinder fires from the bottom chamber rather than the top, which brings the bore line closer to the shooter's hand and redirects recoil more directly backward rather than upward. In practice this reduces muzzle flip noticeably compared to a conventional revolver.
Sights are adjustable rear (elevation and windage) with a red fiber optic fixed front, which makes target acquisition fast in good light. The Altamont hardwood grip contributes to recoil management and provides a comfortable, secure hold.
Overall length is 10.5 inches. The 7075-T6 aluminum alloy frame keeps weight down despite the 6-inch barrel. 2.06 lbs is light for this format.
The White Rhino 60DS works well for target and sport shooting where the adjustable sights and recoil characteristics can be fully used. The 6-inch barrel and .357 Magnum caliber are better suited to range work and home defense than everyday concealed carry, despite the relatively light weight.
I don't like that latch. The the opening the cylinder is kind of weird. Part of it is the traditionalist in me, I guess.
I do like the grip. If you've ever held one of these, even if right now you're about to regurgitate, you people in Kentucky, that means throw up.
Let me tell you, you might want to grab one sometime. It It feels great in the hand. It It fits really well.
Tell you what, uh, it hits where you're aiming. It really does. It's, uh, it hits where the sights are when you pull the trigger.
They're accurate from all accounts and I've read several reviews on them. People find them accurate. They find them wellmade, uh reliable.

The Chiappa White Rhino 60DS in nickel .357 Magnum generates a clearly divided set of reactions.
On the positive side: the unconventional design draws immediate attention, and most owners report genuine functional benefits from the low bore axis. Reduced muzzle flip compared to traditional revolvers is the most frequently cited performance advantage. Trigger pull and accuracy are generally praised, and the nickel finish gets credit for appearance and corrosion resistance. Ergonomics work well for many shooters, especially during longer range sessions.
On the negative side: weight is a recurring complaint. At 2.06 lbs with a 6-inch barrel, the gun is heavier than some buyers expect, and a few who purchased it with concealed carry in mind found it impractical for that use. Holster availability is limited. The unusual profile means standard revolver holsters usually don't fit, and dedicated options are harder to find. New shooters also note a learning curve adapting to the operation and recoil profile, which differs from conventional revolvers.
Price is mentioned as a sticking point by a portion of buyers who feel the premium over conventional revolvers isn't fully justified by the functional improvements.
Overall sentiment is cautiously positive, with most owners satisfied once they understand what the gun is designed to do.
