The Chiappa Rhino is a revolver that fires from the bottom chamber of the cylinder rather than the top, so the barrel sits in line with the shooter's hand. Recoil comes straight back into the palm instead of rotating the muzzle upward, which reduces muzzle rise compared to a conventional revolver. The model code gives the barrel length and the action: 200 is a 2-inch gun, 30 to 60 are 3 to 6 inches and 120 is 12 inches; DS is double/single action, D is double action only, and SAR is a single-action-only version. Chambered in .357 Magnum, 9mm, .40 S&W, 10mm Auto and, on the larger L frame, .44 Magnum, all with six-round cylinders. Most frames are machined aluminum alloy; the 30DS X uses stainless steel.
