The Ruger LCP MAX has become a popular pocket pistol, and owners of the .380 ACP platform consistently point to its reliability as a strength once past the first magazine or two. Some new owners note recoil is sharp given the light weight, which is typical for guns this size.

For carry use, the LCP MAX draws praise for how easily it disappears in a pocket or ankle holster, and the Magpul grip on this variant is seen as an upgrade over the bare polymer grip on earlier LCP models, giving a more secure hold for a gun this small. The tritium sights are appreciated by owners who carry for personal defense.

On value, owners generally feel the LCP MAX is priced fairly for what it includes, especially with two magazines and a holster in the box. The trigger draws mixed opinions: some like the crisp break, others still prefer a heavier-duty gun as a primary carry piece.
