The Savage Arms Axis XP is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, built around a black synthetic stock and sold as a scoped package with a 3-9x40 optic. It has a 20-inch barrel and feeds from a detachable box magazine that holds four rounds, giving it an overall length of about 40.5 inches. The rifle is set up for right-hand shooters and includes a two-position safety, and the whole package is meant to go straight from the box to the range with no separate optic purchase needed.

Owners of the Axis XP in 6.5 Creedmoor generally report a rifle that performs well for the price, with the included scope saving a separate purchase. As with any budget bolt gun, the factory trigger is the part shooters mention wanting to upgrade first, and a portion of owners do just that after living with the rifle for a while.

In the field, the black synthetic stock is light and low maintenance, which owners who hunt in rough weather appreciate. A few note that the stock has more flex than a premium composite, though most consider that a fair tradeoff at this price.

Value is the recurring theme in feedback on the Axis XP: buyers like getting a chambered 6.5 Creedmoor rifle and a mounted scope in one package instead of pricing the two separately. The Axis platform has a long track record, so aftermarket triggers, stocks, and barrels are easy to find when an owner wants to upgrade later.
