Detailed Features
The user-adjustable AccuTrigger is the main selling point. It lets you set the pull weight to your preference, which matters more on a lightweight hunting rifle where managing recoil and trigger feel go hand in hand.
The 18-inch barrel keeps overall length short at 38.5 inches, making it easier to maneuver in tight situations. .350 Legend produces low recoil relative to its terminal performance, and the 1-in-16 twist rate suits the cartridge well. The drilled and tapped receiver accepts standard scope mounts. Integral swivel studs are included for sling attachment.
Target Audience
Hunters in states that restrict deer hunting to straight-wall cartridges will find the .350 Legend chambering directly relevant. The light weight and compact dimensions also make it appealing to younger or smaller-framed shooters. New shooters looking for a forgiving, affordable bolt-action will get a usable out-of-the-box experience once an optic is added.
Usage Scenarios
- Hunting: The .350 Legend is effective on deer-class game, and several midwestern states specifically allow it for hunting zones that restrict bottleneck cartridges.
- The adjustable trigger is a real benefit for precision work at the range.

What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
I mean, it's really an all-around great hunting rifle.
This is not a super smooth bold action okay it's okay it works pretty good works fine for the purpose deer hunting is not a volume of fire sport.
The only thing I change about this gun is whenever you rack it in the scope kind of get in the way and I really do not like the scope cover for it either that broke pretty instantly.
They've got this really nice hexagonally shaped oversized bolt handle. Now, I actually really like this cuz it has really excellent purchase when charging a firearm.
The trigger itself is adjustable and doesn't come out too bad from the factory.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
The Savage Axis 2 Gen 2 in .350 Legend with the green stock gets positive marks for price and practical accuracy. Buyers consistently note that it shoots well out of the box for a budget bolt-action, and the AccuTrigger, while occasionally described as adequate rather than excellent, is seen as a clear improvement over fixed triggers in this tier.
The lightweight design and .350 Legend chambering draw specific attention from hunters in states with straight-wall cartridge requirements. The green stock is divisive: some like the look, others would prefer something more neutral. A few owners mention that certain components feel less substantial than on higher-end rifles, which is expected at this price.
The trigger gets occasional criticism for not being crisp enough for shooters accustomed to premium glass-bedded actions, but most concede it's reasonable for the money. For entry-level hunting or a first bolt-action, it tends to be recommended without much hesitation, with the note that adding better optics makes a noticeable difference.
