What Reviewers Say
Quoted verbatim from YouTube reviews. Each link opens the video at the moment quoted.
This is not a super smooth bold action okay it's okay it works pretty good works fine for the purpose deer hunting is not a volume of fire sport.
The only thing I change about this gun is whenever you rack it in the scope kind of get in the way and I really do not like the scope cover for it either that broke pretty instantly.
The trigger itself is adjustable and doesn't come out too bad from the factory.
350 doesn't dump you too much it's pretty soft shooting cartridge so kids younger shooters shorter statured shooters all that sort of thing it's a really good advantage.
Safety's up here on the tang forward is off back is on so it doesn't matter if you're right or left-handed it's very easy to access with your shooting hand thumb.
Customers Say
AI-generated insights derived from customer reviews and discussions on popular gun-enthusiast forums.
User feedback on the Savage Axis 2 .350 Legend with gray synthetic stock generally lands positive, with some consistent criticisms worth knowing.
Affordability is the headline for most buyers. The Axis 2 consistently gets credit for delivering accurate, reliable performance at a price point where alternatives are limited.
Accuracy reviews are strong. Tight groupings at the range are frequently mentioned, and the AccuTrigger gets direct credit for that consistency. Most hunters report it's field-ready without needing adjustments.
The .350 Legend caliber is well-regarded for deer hunting, particularly in states with straight-wall requirements. Opinions diverge when the conversation turns to longer-range use, where the cartridge shows limits compared to traditional bottle-neck rounds.
On the critical side, weight comes up occasionally. A few users find it heavier than expected for field carry. Trigger feel, while improved over earlier Axis models, still draws some comparison to premium options. The synthetic stock splits opinion: it's durable and functional, but some find the ergonomics or texture less comfortable than they'd like.
The absence of features found on higher-end rifles, things like advanced bedding or upgraded optic mounting, is noted by experienced shooters, though most acknowledge that's a fair trade for the price. Overall the rifle's reputation in the community is solid for what it is.
