The Savage Arms Axis 2 XP is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .350 Legend, paired with an FDE synthetic stock and matte black metalwork. It ships with a 3-9x40 scope already mounted, an AccuTrigger you can adjust to your preferred pull weight, and integral swivel studs for sling or bipod attachment.
The AccuTrigger adjusts to let shooters set pull weight to their own standard rather than accepting whatever the factory ships. That's a meaningful feature at this price point. The 3-9x40 scope handles most hunting distances without needing to upgrade immediately, and the 18" barrel keeps overall length at 38.5", manageable in dense cover.
At 7.2 lbs., the rifle is light enough for a full day afield. The detachable box magazine holds 4 rounds with one in the chamber, and the 2-position top tang safety is fast and intuitive.
The .350 Legend caliber is particularly useful in states with straight-walled cartridge restrictions for deer hunting. Recoil is mild, which helps with quick follow-up shots. The adjustable trigger makes range work more precise, and the included optic means you can be shooting the same day the rifle arrives.
This is not a super smooth bold action okay it's okay it works pretty good works fine for the purpose deer hunting is not a volume of fire sport.
I think the bolt issue has been resolved.
The trigger itself is adjustable and doesn't come out too bad from the factory.
350 doesn't dump you too much it's pretty soft shooting cartridge so kids younger shooters shorter statured shooters all that sort of thing it's a really good advantage.
Safety's up here on the tang forward is off back is on so it doesn't matter if you're right or left-handed it's very easy to access with your shooting hand thumb.

Buyers of the Axis 2 XP in .350 Legend generally come away satisfied given the price. The scope-and-rifle bundle is the most common selling point, getting a mounted, zeroed-ready setup without extra optics cost appeals to hunters who want to skip that step.
Accuracy at moderate hunting distances comes up frequently in positive reviews. The .350 Legend handles deer-sized game well, and it's especially popular in straight-wall cartridge states. The AccuTrigger gets credit for making the trigger feel better than what you'd expect at this price.
On the critical side, some users note the trigger could be more refined and suggest aftermarket options for those who want to improve it further. A handful of reviews question long-term durability under heavy use, though most hunting-season use comes back without complaints. The included scope covers general hunting needs but isn't a serious optic for extended ranges or low light.
Overall, discussions land on the Axis 2 XP as a practical entry-level hunting rifle, good accuracy, manageable recoil, and a complete package at a competitive price.
