Detailed Features

The heavy profile barrel is free-floated, removing stock-to-barrel contact that would otherwise shift point of impact between shots. Spiral fluting reduces barrel weight without thinning the cross-section significantly, preserving rigidity. The 21-inch length is a practical compromise between velocity and portability.

The AccuTrigger allows pull weight adjustment, giving you a crisp, repeatable break without paying for an aftermarket unit. The multicolor laminate stock is more visually distinctive than standard wood and adds dimensional stability over temperature and humidity changes. The detachable 5-round box magazine simplifies reloading.

Target Audience

Beginning to intermediate precision shooters working on fundamentals, varmint hunters wanting a .22 LR that can shoot small targets reliably, and anyone looking for a rimfire platform with a factory trigger worth keeping.

Usage Scenarios

Small game like rabbits and squirrels where quiet, accurate shots matter. Target shooting and benchrest practice where the heavy free-floated barrel does its best work. Training new shooters where low recoil and low ammo cost allow high volume practice.

The Savage Mark II BRJ Varmint Precision .22 LR gets solid reviews across accuracy, build, trigger, and value.

Accuracy is the leading theme - owners consistently report tight groups at longer rimfire ranges, and credit the heavy free-floated barrel and AccuTrigger combination. The trigger receives specific mention as one of the better factory units available on a rimfire at this price. Build quality is described as substantial and reliable, holding up over time.

Value relative to price is frequently discussed. The rifle gets recommended as an entry point to precision rimfire shooting that doesn't immediately demand upgrades.

Customization discussions are common - optics, stocks, and trigger fine-tuning are all topics that come up in owner communities. Weight is noted occasionally as running heavier than other rimfires, which affects portability on longer carries. A small number of owners mention feeding issues with specific ammo brands, which is a recurring theme across most box-magazine rimfires.
