The P226 platform has a long track record with owners, and the Legion-series treatment adds to that reputation. Owners who already trust the P226 action often point to the trigger job and tighter fit as the reason to pay more for a Legion variant, and the DLC-coated slide gets praise for holding up to holster wear and daily handling.

With the factory ROMEO-X Pro mounted on a purpose-built slide cut, owners appreciate not having to buy and fit an aftermarket optics plate. The G10 grips are generally well liked for their texture, though a few owners with smaller hands find the full-size P226 grip thicker than a comparable striker-fired 9mm. The DA/SA trigger with a decocker is familiar to owners coming from other Sig double-action pistols, but some newer shooters mention the long, heavier first double-action pull takes practice.

Value opinions split along the usual lines for a Legion-tier pistol: owners who want the factory optic cut, upgraded trigger, and DLC slide in one package see it as worth the premium over a base P226, while others note a base P226 with an aftermarket red dot plate can be built for less. The P226's decades of aftermarket holster and sight support carry over to this variant without issue.
