Detailed Features

The Novak drift-adjustable sights are a step above the typical fixed sights found at this price point. At 24.7 oz and 7.72 inches overall, the TH40 is a full-size pistol, comfortable to shoot all day at the range, less convenient as a concealed carry option.

The adjustable backstrap accommodates different hand sizes without swapping out grip panels. The ambidextrous safety works for left-handed shooters without modification. At 15 rounds, magazine capacity is competitive for the .40 S&W platform.

Usage Scenarios

The TH40 fits home defense and target shooting well. It's on the larger side for concealed carry, though not impossible. The .40 S&W chambering gives it more stopping power than 9mm at the cost of slightly heavier recoil.

Owners of the TH40 in FDE consistently bring up value. It delivers a full-size pistol with adjustable sights and ambidextrous controls at a price that undercuts comparable options from other manufacturers.

The ergonomics get positive reviews, particularly the adjustable backstrap, which removes a common complaint about pistols that fit some hands and not others. The 15-round magazine capacity in .40 S&W is appreciated by buyers who prioritize capacity.

The criticisms that surface regularly involve reliability. Some owners report occasional jams or misfires, which is a meaningful concern for a defensive pistol. Grip feedback is mixed. Most find it comfortable during normal use, but a few shooters want more texture for control during rapid fire. Overall, the TH40 is a reasonable buy for someone who wants a budget-friendly full-size .40 S&W, but reliability testing with your chosen defensive load before trusting it is worth doing.
