It holds 5+1 rounds via a hinged floorplate magazine. The adjustable two-stage trigger gives the shooter control over break weight, and the three-position safety allows safe handling during transport and chamber checks. At 6.5 lbs. it is practical for full hunting days. The Vanguard II carries Weatherby's SUB-MOA accuracy guarantee.
The action is pretty smooth in these especially once it's worked in. It's very smooth.
Has uh a nice first light stage. Comes to a nice solid wall with no second stage creep.
Weatherbe claims that having a contact point at the end uh actually improves accuracy.
It did seem like it only wanted to have two rounds as far as the mag capacity versus 3 plus one but functioned ejected extracted and fed all right and it's very accurate.

The Vanguard II in 7MM-08 draws positive feedback for accuracy and reliability. The SUB-MOA guarantee is a talking point, and most owners report their rifle delivers on it. The 7MM-08 caliber is praised for versatility: adequate for medium to large game, flat enough trajectory, and recoil that is manageable across extended hunting days.
The synthetic stock is appreciated for durability in varied weather. The smooth bolt action is consistently mentioned positively. The rifle's aesthetics (matte finish, clean lines) are generally liked, and the platform accepts optics and accessories without issue.
Weight perceptions split by use case. At 6.5 lbs. it is competitive, but some hunters carrying it over rough terrain still flag it. Pricing is considered fair to good by most users. A minority find comparable options for less money, but the SUB-MOA guarantee is cited as the differentiator at the price point.
