Features

The M.O.A. trigger is adjustable, letting shooters set pull weight to preference without sending the gun to a gunsmith. The thumbhole stock is right-hand specific and puts the hand in a more vertical position than a conventional stock. That geometry reduces torque on the gun during the shot, which helps with consistency at distance. The free-floating, threaded barrel keeps harmonics clean and accommodates a suppressor or muzzle brake directly. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optic mounting.

The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering is well-suited to the platform: the cartridge's ballistic efficiency paired with the 24-inch barrel gives it a velocity advantage over shorter-barreled rifles and stretches effective range for varmint and target work.

Feedback on the Winchester XPR Thumbhole Varmint in 6.5 Creedmoor is mostly positive, with accuracy and value being the common reasons buyers are satisfied.

Long-range performance gets strong marks consistently. The 6.5 Creedmoor's flat trajectory and low recoil are appreciated, and users report good groups at distance with the 24-inch barrel. Most buyers feel the rifle competes well against higher-priced bolt guns on raw accuracy.

The M.O.A. trigger is a regularly cited advantage. Being able to adjust pull weight without extra expense or effort is something users in this price range don't take for granted.

The thumbhole stock divides opinion. Many find it comfortable and effective for stability, particularly in a prone or bench position. Others prefer a conventional stock, either for fit or simply habit. It's a real design choice rather than a gimmick, but it's not universally preferred.

Build quality is described as solid and functional. The finish is utilitarian, which some find underwhelming compared to aesthetics-focused alternatives.

Customer service experiences with Winchester are mixed in the reviews, with some users reporting smooth warranty interactions and others noting slower response times. Recoil management with 6.5 Creedmoor is generally described as easy to handle for extended sessions.
