The Savage Model 12 Varmint Thumbhole in .204 Ruger is a bolt-action rifle built for accuracy at range. Detailed Features

The AccuTrigger system adjusts pull weight from approximately 1.5 to 6 lbs, which gives shooters meaningful control over their trigger feel without requiring a gunsmith. The fluted free-floating barrel reduces weight and improves heat dissipation during extended sessions. The three-position safety allows you to safely unload the chamber without engaging the trigger, a practical feature on a hunting rifle. The stainless steel matte finish resists corrosion. The thumbhole stock improves grip during recoil and provides a stable hold during long bench sessions.

Owners of the Savage Varmint Precision in .204 Ruger consistently highlight accuracy as the main draw, tight groups at long ranges and a flat trajectory from the .204 Ruger cartridge. The smooth bolt action and solid construction get regular positive comments. Value is a recurring theme: most users feel the rifle punches above its price point compared to similarly-specced competitors. The stock design draws some criticism for ergonomics. A few users would prefer an adjustable or more contoured design for extended sessions. Some owners add aftermarket optics and note that the rifle benefits from them. Overall, feedback reflects that it handles the varmint rifle role well.
