The Century Arms AP5 is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol built by MKE (Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation) in Turkey and imported by Century Arms. It is styled after the MP5 submachine gun and uses the same roller-delayed blowback operating system. The full-size AP5 has an 8.9-inch barrel. The family also includes the AP5-P (5.75 inches, an MP5K pattern), the AP5-M (4.5 inches), the AP5-SD with a faux suppressor shroud, the Navy-finish models, and the AP5-L with a 16.5-inch barrel. Most models carry a top rail for optics. Controls include an ambidextrous safety selector and classic diopter sights. The pistol accepts MP5-style magazines and is compatible with a range of MP5 pattern stocks, handguards, and other accessories. The AP5 is used for home defense, tactical training, and recreational shooting.
